‘50 Ways to Leave Your Lover’ Arranged for Marching Band

🎺🎷🥁 Full marching band Arrangement 🎺🎷🥁

Here is a Sibelius Sound export of an Orchestrated Arrangement I did in July 2017, of the Paul Simon classic, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.

I have always loved this track - in particular, Steve Gadd’s bouncy military-esque drum pattern. This arrangement was part of the Arranging section of my Degree in my final year at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Inspired by my years in the Marching Band at my secondary school - Christ’s Hospital School, and influenced by Steve Gadd’s drum pattern, I decided to arrange the song for a full 35+ piece Marching/Concert Band.
Mixing in New Orleans street/funeral/marching bands sounds to expand on that drum pattern to give it a bit of that Crawfish/Big Easy/Bayou Twist. This is one of my proudest accomplishments, and I can remember pulling my hair out working for hours and hours for about 2 months straight to get it right! One day I hope to hear it come to life, performed live by a full Wind/Brass/Percussion Orchestra - but until then - Sibelius Sounds will have to do.
